Show Notes

How can you make a living doing work that you love? This is the question and challenge that drives Nathan Barry of Converkit.

In previous careers Nathan Barry has been a designer, author, and blogger. After learning the power of email marketing he gave up a successful blogging career to build ConvertKit. Outside of work Nathan spends his time playing soccer, woodworking, and chasing after his three little boys.

In this episode, Bean Ninjas Learning & Community Lead Anfernee Chansamooth chats to Nathan about his journey from creative to CEO of SaaS company Convertkit. From humble beginnings as an introvert who was forced to learn how to do direct sales, to leading a fully remote team through business growth and times of crisis. This episode was recorded soon after COVID-19 hit the globe, and Convertkit launched a $50,000 fund to support creators.

Nathan also gives some insights into how and why Convertkit decided to launch a new free plan for users, as well as a landing page product.
